The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant Breakfast Review [2026 Gluten Free & Food Allergy Options]
This gluten free dining experience took place in February 2026. It includes information about dairy free options, as well as fish/shellfish, peanut/tree nut, chicken/turkey & cabbage allergies.
Breakfast at The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant
The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant located at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort is one of those restaurants that seems to bring strong opinions from Disney World guests. With pricey slices of cake (around $22!) and menu, some guests don’t love the hefty price tag of this 3rd party operated restaurant — while others love the social media postability of the restaurant, its food, and its drink. Even in our household, we’re a bit mixed on the Cake Bake Shop. Brandon absolutely loves it, while I’m generally neutral towards it. I like a few standards that I mostly order every visit, but I’m not as wowed by the glitter (quite literally) of it all at Cake Bake. While we’ve eaten at The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant for dinner on numerous occasions, we decided to finally give it a try for breakfast.
Atmosphere
All that glitters is gold, at least at The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant. With hues of pinks and whites, you’ll find that the glittery theme and pastel colors are present at Cake Bake the moment you see the restaurant’s exterior.

The floral and glitter follow you into the restaurant, where you’ll find animal animatronics and large floral arrangements lining the restaurant’s walls and ceilings.
Bar Seating Area at Cake Bake / Photo Taken by Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW
On this visit, we sat in the bar seating area, which includes comfortable couches and some small tables. The main dining room has more standard seating, but the bar area is definitely a bit more relaxed.

You’ll also find a large walkup bar that you can go to without reservations. Our dining reservation did indicate that we would be seated in the bar area, which are usually good with. On this visit, it was very quiet with very few other guests seated there.
Birthday Sign at Cake Bake / Photo Taken by Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW
On this visit, we went for my birthday. If you are celebrating, definitely let the Cake Bake shop team know, as they will provide you with some fun celebratory cheer. I got a special birthday card, and sometimes you’ll end up with a glittery surprise too. On our visit for dinner on my birthday previously, they made sure my day was full of literal Pixie Glitter Wishes.
The Food & Drink
Since The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant is not owned and operated by Disney, it does not have an allergy-friendly menu. But, you can talk to both your server and a manager to discuss options. A small number of items on the menu may have notes about gluten free substitutions like a bun, but you’ll really want to go through the options with the team at Cake Bake to ensure you know what is safe for your special dietary needs.
English Breakfast Hot Tea at Cake Bake / Photo Taken by Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW
Before our breakfast, we did get some non-alcoholic breakfast beverages. Up first, I got some hot tea. One of my favorite things about Cake Bake is that they have excellent tea, much better than most other Disney restaurants. They use Dammann Frères, a French tea brand, that has some lovely tea options. On this occasion, I got a classic English Breakfast Tea which was very good.
Latte with Coconut Milk at Cake Bake / Photo Taken by Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW
I also decided that I needed more caffeine as our breakfast took a bit long to prepare, so I also ordered a Latte with Coconut Milk. If you do have a dairy allergy, you’ll want to discuss any safety concerns, especially with machines that may have shared surfaces with dairy. The restaurant does carry Almond, Oat, and Coconut milks — all at an extra charge.
I’ll say that this was definitely a very strong latte, and the coconut milk itself was very coconut forward. If you aren’t a coconut fan, I’d skip this one non-dairy milk option. I do like coconut a lot, so I enjoyed this one.
Double Espresso at Cake Bake / Photo Taken by Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW
For Brandon’s breakfast beverage of choice, he got a double espresso, which he said was very strong, though it seemed more like a single than a double size wise (and he drinks this regularly).
Brandon with GF Modified Eggs Any Style Breakfast at Cake Bake / Photo Taken by Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW
For Brandon’s entree, he ordered the Eggs Any Style which came with two eggs (he chose scrambled), fingerling potatoes, bacon, and gluten free toast. This was gluten free and could be easily modified dairy free.
If you are dairy free, this would probably be the best bet entree, as there are honestly very limited dairy free options at Cake Bake. If you’re vegan, it’s even more difficult, so I wouldn’t recommend dining here if you are vegan. Oddly, they serve vegan sausage on the menu but not plant-based eggs.
Overall, Brandon thought this was very good. He loved all of the options and said he would definitely get it again. I did try one of his potatoes, and I thought they were under-seasoned.

For my entree, I ordered the gluten free modified Eggs Benedict, which came with arugula salad. This does contain dairy and cannot be modified. Overall, this was a solid Eggs Benedict, but not my favorite of all time. The hollandaise had a bit of spiciness to it that I liked, and I enjoyed the simple arugula salad that added some freshness and cut the richness of the Eggs Benny. I’d probably get this one again, but I might also look to get another option next visit to try something new.
Gluten Free Pixie Fetti Buttermilk Pancakes at Cake Bake / Photo Taken by Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW
We also split the Gluten Free Pixie Fetti Buttermilk Pancakes. These are marked gluten free on the menu and come with a pink vanilla buttercream (aka FROSTING), pixie fetti, and maple syrup. If you are looking for a fun breakfast or a sugar bomb, these pancakes have got you covered. They were extremely sweet. I’m glad we tried them, but I don’t think I could eat these as a breakfast entree — splitting it as a “dessert” was the way to go.

Overall
If you are staying in the Boardwalk Resort area or are looking for another breakfast option to try, The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant could be a good one for you. While I do think there are other restaurants at Disney that rank higher on my breakfast must list, we both found the breakfast to be tasty and one that did accommodate our special dietary needs. Brandon, of course, loved it more than I did, but we expected that going into this experience. But, if you’re gluten free, there are several options you can get during breakfast/brunch. And, you can always get the gluten free cake or other desserts too!
