Oh my gosh, I’m really excited. On my first gluten free/dairy free trip in August 2009, I ate at Boma and had a great meal. The chef mentioned that they could make a gluten free/dairy free version of bobotie (a fantastic curry dish!), but that they need notice to do something like that. This put a little bug in my ear, and I thought that the next time I ate at Boma I would ask them if they could actually do this. Well, I emailed the folks at Boma and never really heard anything back. So, I figured about a month ago that I would try to email them again (since we are eating there on October 11 for breakfast). What could it hurt? Well, no response. I figured it was a bust. But then today (nearly a month later), lo and behold I get an email from Sous Chef Trish and this is what she said:
I spoke to Chef Amber, she is the opening Chef that day and she will be able to accommodate your request
I then asked her if I needed to do anything special as far as asking when I got there (i.e. specifically asking for Chef Amber) and this is what she said:
Just let the podium team know upon check in that you need to see Chef Amber and she will take care of the rest!
I’m soooo excited! Can’t wait to share this experience with you all and hopefully, I’ll be eating Bobotie in week!
