Everything Pop -- Breakfast -- Quick Service -- Pop Century

*This dining experience took place in October 2016. Pop Century Everything PopEverything Pop, located in Disney's Pop Century Resort, is a cafeteria style quick service restaurant, and the value resort's only restaurant. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the food at Everything Pop is a lot of your standard quick service options, but also incldues some fun and delicious retro inspired meals too.On this particular visit, I stopped by for breakfast with Travel Planner Mary Morales, a wonderful Disney Vacation planner who may be at Disney even more than I am! I decided to grab a quick meal before heading to work.Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Eggs, and Bacon at Pop CenturyI took a look at the Everything Pop allergy friendly breakfast menu before I went, and I was intrigued by the gluten free chocolate chip pancakes. The chef told me that they were made with a combination of Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Pancake & Waffle Mix and Namaste Pancake and Waffle Mix. The chocolate chips do and/or may contain dairy, so they are not listed as dairy free (though I'd love to see them use dairy free chocolate chips, like Enjoy Life Foods).I ordered the pancakes with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs (which are made dairy free). The eggs and bacon weren't anything special, but good. Though I wouldn't say a spectactular breakfast, the chocolate chip pancakes really hit the spot -- although, they were awfully sweet! Nothing like a sugar rush in the morning before work.Everything Pop at Pop CenturyOverall, I would definitely get this breakfast again at Everything Pop. The food was substantial, filling, and quite good. Plus, it's one of the few locations where you can actually get gluten free chocolate chip pancakes. That's a win!Have you been to Everything Pop? What do you like to order when you visit there?

California Grill -- Dinner -- Table Service -- Contemporary Resort

*This dining experience took place in October 2016.California Grill California Grill, located at Disney's Contemporary Resort, is a signature dining location with impressive views of the Walt Disney World Resort. Because of that, it's a popular restaurant and one that often books up 180 days in advance.I had not been to California Grill since 2013, when it had recently re-opened after a lengthy refurbishment. The food was great, the atmosphere amazing, but the service we had in 2013 (for my brother's 30th birthday) was not so great. On this particular occasion, I visited California Grill with a friend from college who was visiting from out-of-town. California Grill is one of his favorite restaurants, so it was a great excuse to visit.California GrillCalifornia Grill carries an allergy-friendly menu, like most restaurants at Disney. I had looked at the menu here on my site before going to dinner, but California Grill does frequently update its menu.Of course, you can always speak to a chef upon arrival if you have any questions or are interested in additional menu modifications (or your special dietary need is not listed on the menu). For instance, none of the beef options on the menu are currently listed as gluten free, but I'm sure with some easy modifications they could be.Ener-G Rolls at California GrillPrior to ordering, our server Donald brought me Ener-G rolls and some butter (you can request extra virgin olive oil too). I only tried a bite of the roll and decided not to even ask for olive oil. I am always so disappointed when a restaurant like California Grill serves Ener-G. They weren't well heated and turned hard very quickly.I would have much preferred the GNI / Deanna's Gluten Free rolls, which are much tastier.Fish Tacos at California GrillFor an appetizer, I ordered the Artisan Tacos with Adobo Fish, House-made Cilantro-Corn Tortillas, Pickled Red Onion, and an Avocado mash. It normally comes with crema, but I asked for it to be served without it in order to make it dairy free. With this modification, the dish was gluten free and dairy free. The flavors on this were really nice. It was a bright flavorful dish -- though I think the flavor of the delicate fish was lost on the bold flavors of the accompaniments. Still, it was a really large portion for an appetizer and could easily be an entree with a side salad.Pork Tenderloin with Goat Cheese Polenta at California GrillFor my entree, I chose the Pork Two Ways with Grilled Tenderloin, Goat Cheese Polenta, Mushrooms, and Lacquered Pork Belly. This is gluten free, egg, fish/shellfish, and peanut/tree nut free, but does contain dairy (goat cheese). This was a beyond amazing entree. Simply the best thing I've ever ordered at California Grill, and it might be one of the best entrees I've ever ordered at a signature dining location. The pork tenderloin was unbelievably tender and well seasoned. The pork belly was the absolute star of the dish (because...well, pork fat rules!). It was so rich and tender and the sauce on it was insanely good. The goat cheese polenta was very flavorful but not overpowering in goat cheese.Overall, it all balanced so well. I may have nearly licked my plate, it was so good!Chocolate Pudding Cake at California GrillFor dessert, I could have ordered a sorbet, but because I've been reintroducing a bit of dairy back into my diet, I tried the Chocolate Pudding Cake with Nutella Filling, Meringue Kisses, and Chantilly Cream. It is both gluten free and peanut free. This was so super rich, so only a few bites were necessary for me, but wow. What flavors! The rich cake was really just dense chocolate with Nutella. The meringue and homemade marshmallows on the side were really nice too. Overall, this was a rich decadent dessert that if you're gluten free and can have dairy is a must!Peppermint Tea at California GrillDuring dessert, I also opted for a pot of hot peppermint tea. The flavors were perfect, and it was excellent to have after a few bites of the rich dessert.California Grill has an entire tea menu, so definitely check it out if you like tea.California GrillAfter dinner, we walked to the observation deck and checked out the amazing view of Walt Disney World and Orlando. On a clear night, you can see a lot of the city, and it's a spectacular view. If you are at California Grill at the right time, you can also see Wishes on the deck too (they also pipe in the music). If you finish dinner earlier than the time for Fireworks, you are allowed to come back as a dining guest after your meal to enjoy the view, which is a nice bonus.Overall, I was extremely impressed with the dinner I had at California Grill. The food was incredible and the server was impeccable this time. I can highly recommend our server Donald, who was very attentive throughout our meal. California Grill is definitely a lovely spot for a special occasion, and it's great to know that guests with special dietary needs have many options while dining there.

Potato Chips -- Snacks -- Tea Caddy -- United Kingdom Pavilion -- Epcot

*This post contains ingredient information from September 2016. Always double-check ingredients of pre-packaged snacks to ensure that an item is safe for your special dietary need before consuming. Sea Salt Chips from the Tea Caddy at EpcotI love snacks, and I love to see what snacks sold in the Epcot World Showcase pavilions from other countries might be safe for me to eat. Recently, I stopped by the Tea Caddy at the UK Pavilion to see what items are available, and I found several packages of potato chips (aka "crisps" as they are referred to in the UK) and found several marked gluten free.Up first is Burts British Hand Cooked Potato Chips in Sea Salt flavor.Sea Salt Chips from the Tea Caddy at EpcotThe ingredients look fairly simple and include potatoes, sunflower oil, and sea salt. It also contains a note that says, "suitable for vegetarians, gluten free." There do not appear to be any warnings about cross-contamination or made in facility with wheat/gluten.Salt & Vinegar Chip Ingredients at the Tea Caddy at EpcotNext up, I saw another package of Burts British Hand Cooked Potato Chips in Sea Salt & Malted Vinegar flavor. Now, I don't know about you but "malt" and gluten free don't mix. Let's look at the ingredients...Salt & Vinegar Chip Ingredients at the Tea Caddy at EpcotAccording to the packaging the ingredients include: Potatoes, sunflower oil, natural vinegar flavourings (BARLEY), sea salt, sugar, rice flour, acid: citric acid, yeast extract powder. It has a note thatIt also contains a note that says, "suitable for vegetarians, gluten free." However, when I went to their website, these chips are not listed as gluten free. I personally would avoid these, as they would not be a safe GF option.Rich Chili Chips Ingredients from Tea Caddy at EpcotLike the Sea Salt & Malted Vinegar flavor chips, I couldn't imagine anything labeled Guinness would be gluten free. The Guinness Rich Chili flavor chips are marked gluten free. Let's look at the ingredients...Rich Chili Chips Ingredients from Tea Caddy at EpcotThe ingredients listed are Potatoes, sunflower oil, sugar, yeast extract powder, salt, natural flavour, onion powder, paprika flavour, barley malt extract powder, spices, tomato powder, citric acid, natural colour: paprika extract, chilli extract.Again, we see Barley listed in the ingredients which is not considered gluten free. When I went to their website, I couldn't find an exact match for these chips, and I would not consider these to be gluten free based on the barley malt.I'm a bit disappointed by the options, and kind of wish there were some of the more interesting and fun flavor of crisps. Just looking at Burts website, I saw the following that were gluten free: Devon Roasted Beef, Firecracker Lobster, and Vintage Cheddar & Spring Onion. I think I need the Firecracker Lobster & Devon Roasted Beef crisps in my life!Still, at least there's one flavor at the Tea Caddy shop in the UK Pavilion at Epcot that is gluten free -- the classic Sea Salt.I'll be heading back here and updating the list and finding other chips and snacks options!Have you been to the Tea Caddy at the UK Pavilion in Epcot? What gluten free and special dietary needs snacks did you find?

Krusty Burger -- Dinner -- Quick Service -- Universal Studios Orlando

*This dining experience took place in September 2016.Krusty BurgerKrusty Burger is a quick service dining location in the Simpsons Area of Universal Studios Orlando. I recently had dinner there while attending Halloween Horror Nights.Originally, we had planned on getting tacos at Bumblebee Man's Taco Truck, as I had heard that they had gluten free and dairy free tacos. Sadly, this ended up not being the case, as the team members there advised me not to get anything due to cross-contamination, so we ended up across the way at Krusty Burger. On a previous visit, I had the Krusty Burger, and I wasn't all that impressed. I loved the tater tots, but found the burger itself to be just so-so.During this visit, I spoke with a chef and asked if I could get a grilled chicken sandwich. Thankfully, he advised me that the chicken was gluten free, so I was able to get something other than a burger.Chicken Sandwich at Krusty BurgerThe grilled chicken sandwich I had was served on an Udi's Gluten Free bun (which is also dairy free), along with bacon and lettuce. It also came with tater tots made in a dedicated fryer. The sandwich itself was nothing to write home about. It was good, but nothing special. I did add some pre-packaged mayonnaise from the condiment area to my sandwich, which helped a bit. The real star of the meal was the tater tots. What can I say? I just can't enough of tots!Overall, I would stop by Krusty Burger again in a pinch. It's not really my favorite place, but at least I have a few options. I would definitely get the chicken sandwich over the burger though on any visit.Have you been to Krusty Burger at Universal Studios Orlando? What did you think of the gluten free options?

Ohana -- Dinner -- Table Service -- Polynesian Village

*This dining experience took place in September 2016. OhanaOhana, a table service restaurant located at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, offers family style meals with an Asian and Polynesian flare. Ohana has long been a favorite in my family (fitting, since Ohana actually means family). On this particular visit, I dined with my mom and stepdad for dinner. Ohana also offers breakfast, but my family always prefers dinner. There's so many options, and it's such a solid and filling meal. You can read about my most recent visit in May 2016 with my friend Ron, here on the blog. After being seated, Chef Rodney came out to speak with me about options. For family style meals, they bring separate special dietary needs plates for me, except in the cases where the dish is already safe for me to eat.Lilikoi Salad at OhanaFirst up was the Lilikoi Salad, which is both gluten free and dairy free naturally. My family has spent enough years with me gluten free that they know about sharing dishes and avoiding cross-contamination. Every makes sure to scoop salad safely, as they each got pieces of regular gluten-filled bread and already had that on their plates.I really like the Lilikoi Salad and often find it to be under-dressed. This was not the case this visit, as it was filled with a good amount of vegetables (including edamame, shredded carrot, and red onion) and papaya mango dressing. I really enjoyed it, and even had a second helping.GNI / Deanna's Gluten Free Roll at OhanaI was also given one Deanna's Gluten Free roll (formerly known as GNI Brand rolls) along with some Earth Balance Vegan Buttery Spread. I don't know what it is about Ohana, but they can never seem to heat these rolls well. This one was probably the most well-heated gluten free roll I've ever had at Ohana, but it was still pretty crumbly. I'm glad that Chef Rodney only brought me one out for my meal, as I wouldn't have eaten a second one.Ohana Rice, Veggies, and Chicken WingsChef Rodney also brought out steamed white rice, chicken wings (plain without sauce), sauteed vegetables, and gluten free Sweet & Sour Sauce. I also asked for gluten free Teriyaki sauce, but didn't end up getting that with my entree.I am a huge white rice fan (don't ask me why; I just find it really comforting), so I love having a nice sauce to add to it along with the veggies. The vegetables always seem really undercooked to me and a little too crunchy for my liking. I usually end up eating a few pieces of broccoli cut up really well and mostly eat the sauteed onions and smaller vegetables that have cooked longer.Ohana Meat PlateFor my money, Ohana is all about the grilled meats. There are currently three grilled meat offerings at Ohana -- sirloin, sweet & sour chicken, and grilled shrimp. All three are gluten free and dairy free, and all three are really delicious. The steak for me is a bit iffy, as sometimes it's really good and other times the meat is really grisly. I had one really amazing piece on this visit, and the rest were kind of gross. I always love the grilled sweet & sour chicken and the grilled shrimp. Both were delicious, and I may have eaten my weight in both of them.Dessert at OhanaFor dessert, Chef Rodney brought me Rice Dream non-dairy ice cream, sliced strawberries, fresh raspberries, topped with Enjoy Life Crunchy Cookies and Hershey's Chocolate Syrup. It's pretty much what they serve me on every visit.Usually, I'm so full I can't eat much of it. I did my best though on this visit. I'd love to see them change up the dessert offerings here. Maybe even offer a version of the Pineapple Dole Whip. I'd much prefer that to ice cream I get when I visit. Or, even better, I remember when Ohana used to serve fresh pineapple slices for dessert. That to me would be a perfect way to end such a big meal.Overall, I can't help but love Ohana. The food is delicious and plentiful. It's definitely one that my family and friends enjoy visiting, and I always look forward to a meal here.Have you been to Ohana? What did you think of your meal there?

Pineapple Dole Whip -- Snacks -- Pineapple Lanai -- Polynesian Village

*This post contains information from September 18, 2016. Always double-check with a cast member to ensure that an item is safe for your special dietary need before consuming. Pineapple LanaiThe Pineapple Lanai, located at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, is a snack kiosk that serves a classic Disney snack option -- the Pineapple Dole Whip. Once only found at the Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom, the Pineapple Lanai is now another great go-to spot to get your Dole Whip fix.Currently, the Pineapple Lanai serves two types of Dole Whip -- the traditional Pineapple Dole Whip and the Vanilla Dole Whip. You can also combine the two and get Swirl Dole Whip.  If you're feeling fancy, you can also get a float served with fresh pineapple juice and your choice of Dole Whip.Pineapple LanaiPineapple Dole Whips are gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and free of the top common allergens. But, the vanilla flavor does contain dairy. It is recommended that you speak to a cast member at the Pineapple Lanai about any potential cross-contamination with dairy in the Dole Whip machines and containers used to pre-mix the Dole Whip flavors. To read the ingredients for the Pineapple Dole Whip, check out my post on the Aloha Isle, with images from the ingredients binder.Dole Whip at the Pineapple LanaiThe Pineapple Dole Whip is such a rare treat. I love that it feels like it should be filled with dairy, yet isn't. It makes for a perfect treat on a hot Florida afternoon, and it is a classic Disney snack. I'm also glad that I can get it at Disney's Polynesian Resort any time I visit there. On this visit, I got the classic Pineapple Dole Whip in a cup, but I will definitely get a Pineapple Dole Whip Float on my next visit. I love both so much that it's hard to choose whenever I go to order one.Have you had the Pineapple Dole Whip? Is it a must do for you when you go to the Magic Kingdom?

Electric Umbrella -- Dinner -- Quick Service -- Epcot

*This dining experience took place in September 2016.Electric UmbrellaElectric Umbrella, located in Future World in Epcot, is a quick service dining location owned & operated by the Disney Company that serves burgers, fries, sandwiches, and a few flatbread options.I recently stopped by Epcot the night before the Epcot 2016 Food & Wine Festival to check out the festival booth signs for gluten free and vegetarian/vegan information and while there decided to grab dinner.Sadly, when I went to Tangierine Cafe in the Morocco Pavilion (which is not owned by Disney), the chef there said they had no gluten free bread and advised me not to eat there. This was a bummer, as I used to love their food options there. I'm not sure if it was a random issue or if it's not as good as it used to be for gluten free diners. With this in mind, I ended up grabbing dinner at Electric Umbrella on my way out of the park.Electric Umbrella Allergy Friendly Lunch and Dinner MenuElectric Umbrella does have an allergy-friendly lunch and dinner menu which made it a lot easier to order. I ended up getting my favorite allergy friendly Chicken Tenders. The manager on duty appeared to have baked them, so this took a bit longer for my order.Allergy Friendly Chicken Tenders at Electric UmbrellaI'm a big fan of their chicken tenders, though these were a bit overcooked as you can see by the photo. Still, they are a nice solid meal and one I will always get again if I'm in the parks. The wait time here was really long, but the restaurant was also very busy. If you're interested in dining here, consider eating during an off hour.Overall, I love the allergy chicken tenders at Disney, and I'm glad that Electric Umbrella has them. You can also find them at Liberty Inn in the World Showcase in Epcot too.Have you been to Electric Umbrella? What did you order when you dined there?

Captain's Grille -- Breakfast -- Table Service -- Yacht Club

*This dining experience took place in September 2016.Captain's Grille Captain's Grille, located at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, is a table service restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's been a while since I've dined here for breakfast, and I recently decided to stop by during the Labor Day holiday weekend.Because it's a bit off the beaten path, I never find Captain's Grille to be overly busy and easily found a last minute breakfast reservation.I haven't been all that wowed by my visits to Captain's Grille in the past but knew that Chef Sergio who used to be at Trattoria al Forno was now there, and I was looking forward to seeing the restaurant offerings. After arriving, I took a look at their allergy friendly breakfast menu and noted that milk allergy was not listed very heavily. Because of this, I asked to speak with a chef. I was excited when I saw Chef Sergio because I knew he'd take great care with my meal.Captain's Grille does offer a buffet option (like the Wave at Disney's Contemporary Resort) along with a la carte options. I tried the buffet in 2013, but on this visit, I opted for a la carte options. If you are ordering and are interested in the buffet, you can always ask a Disney chef for items to be brought from the back of the kitchen to avoid cross contamination on the buffet itself.Captain's Grille BreakfastCaptain's Grille does custom omelets (both for the buffet and a la carte). I decided to try a custom omelet with ham and bacon. I also told Chef Sergio they could add whatever veggies they wanted to it too.The allergy friendly menu said omelets came with fresh fruit. I asked if the breakfast potatoes were OK, and Chef Sergio that they were safe for me to have and replaced the fruit with potatoes. I also got Udi's Gluten Free toast served with Earth Balance Vegan Buttery Spread. The omelet I had was outstanding. One of the best I've ever had at Disney. Filled to the brim with meat and veggies (including onion, green pepper, tomatoes, and spinach), it was perfectly cooked. The breakfast potatoes were really good and made a nice savory side to my omelet.Allergy Mickey Waffles from Captain's GrilleI also asked about the allergy friendly Mickey Waffles. Never one to shy away from a carb, I wanted to add in a bit of sweetness to my breakfast. When I asked what batter they were using (I prefer Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Mix), Chef Sergio noted that Captain's Grille is using Carbon Golden Malted Gluten Free Pancake & Waffle Mix (*Note: despite the word malted, there is no gluten in the GF batter). I had heard that Disney was using a new gluten free and allergy friendly batter, and I have been hearing frequent complaints from readers about it tasting terrible. This was the first time I'd encountered anything other than Bob's Red Mill or Namaste mixes.Chef Sergio said there had been some changes to Bob's Red Mill, in which corn had been removed, that made the mix less allergy friendly and not as tasty. He also noted that the Carbon Golden Malted Gluten Free Pancake & Waffle Mix was top 8 free (unless there commercial brand is different, the version you can buy on their website says it has soy in it). He advised against ordering them and said he wasn't a fan of the new mix either. But, he surprised me with a few to try and said no worries if I didn't like them. And, I have to say, I did not like them. The texture was just weird. The waffles appeared to be nice and crispy on the outside, but the inside was almost hollow. What dough was in the inside of the waffle was doughy and dry (if that makes any sense). The mix is bar none the worst I've tasted on Disney property.I'm really hoping that this mix doesn't become the norm at every restaurant. Between Bob's Red Mill and Namaste, both cover the top 8 common allergens and beyond too. I will definitely be contacting Disney's Special Diets Department and Guest Services to at least provide feedback on the taste because it's a sub-par product and option for guests with special dietary needs.Overall, I really enjoyed Captain's Grille for breakfast. My entree was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. The allergy friendly Mickey waffles with Carbon Golden Malted Gluten Free mix? Not so much. Huge shoutout to my server Cory and Chef Sergio for my great breakfast experience.Have you been to Captain's Grille? What did you think of the offerings there?

Krusty Burger -- Dinner -- Quick Service -- Universal Studios Orlando

*This dining experience took place in August 2016.Krusty BurgerKrusty Burger, located in the Simpsons area of Universal Studios Orlando, is a quick service dining spot that is just like the version in the Simpsons TV show. Inside, the restaurant features several quick service stands that resemble a mall food court and includes: The Frying Dutchman, Luigi's Pizza, Cletus' Chicken Shack, Lisa's Teahouse of Horror, and Krusty Burger.Fellow blogger Glam Without Gluten ate at Krusty Burger last year and raved about it, so I knew I had to check it out.Krusty Burger MenuWhen I arrived, I went to the Krusty Burger area and spoke with a Universal Team Member. They noted that the Krusty Burger & Clogger Burger were both gluten free. They also noted that the curly fries normally served are not.I was told that I could have tater tots as an alternative, which sounded great to me. I never turn down a gluten free safe fried tater tot.Krusty Burger Drink MenuWhile waiting for a Team Member to prepare my burger, I went to the next kiosk where they serve specialty drinks (many non-alcoholic). I had heard that the Flaming Moe was gluten free.A chef came out to speak to me and said that it was, but that none of the other drinks were safe. But, when she brought me the ingredients list (which I sadly did not get a picture of), it listed "wheat germ oil" in the ingredients for the Flaming Moe. For this reason, I would not consider the Flaming Moe to be gluten free. That was a bit of a bummer, but I ended up in Diagon Alley later and got a Tongue Tying Lemon Squash, which satisfied my specialty drink craving (and is gluten free & dairy free).Krusty BurgerMy Krusty Burger was served on a gluten free bun (Universal Studios Orlando uses Udi's Gluten Free). Initially, I was told both the special sauce and cheese sauce were gluten free, but the chef informed me that the special sauce is not (only the cheese sauce is GF).I got my burger plain with lettuce and tomato and added ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise myself using packets that the restaurant provides (which also removes risk of cross-contamination).I don't know if I just got there late in the day, but I was not impressed with the burger itself. The patty was super thin and tasted like it had been sitting around for a long time. It was just OK and not something I'd probably pick as a first choice in dining at Universal Studios. The tater tots, on the other hand, were super delicious! These were the star of my meal, and I would go back just for the tots.Krusty Burger SignThe theming at Krusty Burger was super charming, even if the burger I got was just so-so. I loved the themed napkins and the interior theming of the restaurant itself. Each of the restaurant kiosks were super cute too. I felt like I stepped into an episode of the Simpsons! The next time I'm in the Simpsons area of Universal Studios Orlando, I might try some other options. The Gluten Free & Dairy Free Review Blog went to Bumblebee Man's Tacos there and raved about it. It also seemed like it had more options than what I could get at Krusty Burger.Overall, I wasn't wowed by my meal at Krusty Burger, but it was OK and at least a safe option to have while in the park.Have you been to Krusty Burger? What did you get when you dined there?

Pre-Packaged Popcorn -- Snacks -- Quick Service

*This post contains ingredient information from August 20, 2016, September 17, 2016, and November 12, 2016. Always double-check ingredients of pre-packaged snacks to ensure that an item is safe for your special dietary need before consuming. Pre-Package PopcornWho doesn't love popcorn? Disney popcorn is considered a classic, and I love nothing more than enjoying a box of freshly popped popcorn while strolling through the Disney Parks. The freshly popped popcorn is gluten free, dairy free, and vegan, which I love. But what if you want to take a bit of the magic to your resort room; or, home with you from your vacation? Disney does offer pre-packaged popcorn in a variety of flavors. You can find them in most gift shops throughout the parks & resorts. While gluten free guests can rejoice in that the flavors appear to be gluten free (without any warnings about potential cross-contamination), most of the pre-packaged popcorn flavors do contain dairy. *Note: As I discovered on 11/12/16, there is at least once flavor that does not have an allergy warning about gluten/wheat but does contain those ingredients in the popcorn. I would be cautious about consuming any popcorn that is pre-packaged due to potential cross-contamination not listed on bags for those flavors that do not contain gluten/wheat ingredients. Here are some photos with ingredients of some of the flavors of pre-packaged popcorn. I will be updating this list periodically, so if you don't see a flavor listed, I hope to add it soon.Churro PopcornIf you're gluten free, Churros are one of those treats that you're probably missing. With this Churro Popcorn, you can get your churro fix, minus the gluten.Churro Popcorn IngredientsThe Churro Popcorn ingredients contain milk and soy. There is an allergy warning noting that it is manufactured in a facility that processes peanuts and tree nuts.Gingerbread Pre-Packaged PopcornAs a seasonal option, Disney carries Gingerbread Popcorn, which sounded divine.Gingerbread Pre-Packaged PopcornThe Gingerbread Popcorn ingredients statement says it contains milk, soy, and egg. There is an allergy warning noting that it is manufactured in a facility that processes peanuts, and tree nuts. Here's where things get dicey. Notice the ingredients list? Notice anything missing from the allergy warning? This popcorn contains gluten/wheat in the form of flour, yet contains no mention of it in the allergy warning statement. This is really worrisome because at quick glance, you might miss the warning. Additionally, shouldn't there be a statement about manufactured in a facility that processes wheat/gluten?! This makes me pretty wary of the pre-packaged popcorn now. Have you tried any of the pre-packaged popcorn flavors? Which ones were your favorites?

Pineapple Dole Whip -- Snacks -- Aloha Isle -- Magic Kingdom

*This post contains ingredient information from August 20, 2016. Always double-check with a cast member to ensure that an item is safe for your special dietary need before consuming. Dole WhipPineapple Dole Whips available at the Aloha Isle in Adventureland at Disney's Magic Kingdom and at the Pineapple Lanai at Disney's Polynesian Resort are a classic Disney treat. A soft serve ice cream, you might expect that the Dole Whip is not dairy free, gluten free, or very allergy friendly. But, that is actually not the case! Pineapple Dole Whips are gluten free, dairy free, vegan, and free of the top common allergens.I'm a huge fan of the Pineapple Dole Whip float made with Pineapple Juice. It's so refreshing and perfect for a hot day of touring in the parks. Here is the ingredients list from the Aloha Isle for the Pineapple Dole Whip:Pineapple Dole Whip IngredientsHere is the ingredients list for the Pineapple Juice and Pineapple Spear:Pineapple Juice IngredientsAt the Aloha Isle, you can only get the Pineapple Dole Whip, Dole Whip Float (Pineapple Dole Whip & Pineapple Juice, and is shown in the picture in this post), or a pineapple spear. This location does not carry the vanilla soft serve, which contains dairy, so there are no worries of dairy cross-contamination at Aloha Isle. The Pineapple Lanai at Disney's Polynesian Resort carries both the Pineapple Dole Whip and vanilla soft serve, so you'll want to check with a cast member there to discuss any concerns of cross-contamination with dairy.Dole Whip Official Site has a list of ingredients. You can also check Kent Precision Foods site (which distributes Dole Whips) where it mentions that the Pineapple Dole Whip it is top 8 allergen free.Have you had the Pineapple Dole Whip? Is it a must do for you when you go to the Magic Kingdom?

Sanaa -- Dinner -- Table Service -- Animal Kingdom Lodge

*This dining experience took place in August 2016.SanaaSanaa, located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village, has long been one of my favorite restaurants at Disney. I love the Indian and African inspired dishes, the amount of gluten free and dairy free offerings, and of course, the amazing views. On this particular occasion, I visited with my mom and stepdad who were in town briefly, having just arrived back from a trip to Europe. Their tradition every time they come back from vacation is to dine at Sanaa. And who am I to argue with their tradition?!I looked over the Sanaa allergy friendly menu but asked to speak to a chef, as I had a few questions about some of the new regular menu dishes that are not listed on the allergy friendly menu. As I learned from a recent visit to Sanaa, many of the dishes on the regular menu are gluten free and dairy free but oddly not listed on the allergy friendly menu.Chef Fallon who assisted me and my friends back in April is a rockstar and helped me out on this visit. She deserves some huge kudos.Sanaa gluten free & vegan naanFor an appetizer, we had to get the Sanaa bread service. It's a must. I love that I can get gluten free and allergy friendly (and vegan!) naan bread. Because we were splitting it, I ordered two pieces of the special diets naan while my mom and stepdad got regular naan.Sanaa gluten free & vegan naanBefore anyone else dug in, I immediately scooped up some dipping sauces for myself. I'm a huge fan of the Coriander Chutney, Mango Chutney (which I recently made on My Gluten Free Disney Kitchen!), and the Roasted Red Bell pepper Hummus. I also really enjoy the Tomato Date Chutney. The gluten free and allergy friendly naan was good, but probably the least well cooked compared to other visits where it has been divine. It wasn't bad, but it seemed a bit dry. Thankfully, I had lots of dipping sauces to help with that. The gluten free, allergy friendly, and vegan naan bread is made with Cup4Cup Wholesome Flour blend and is listed as gluten/wheat, egg, fish/shellfish, milk, peanut/tree nut, and soy allergy friendly. Sanaa regular bread serviceThis is a photo of the traditional bread service. This naan is egg, fish/shellfish, peanut/tree nut, and soy allergy friendly.Biryana at SanaaFor my entree, I ordered the African-inspired Biryani which was listed as Fragrant Rice with Seasonal Vegetables influenced from the Cape of Good Hope. This is a vegetarian dish (I believe it was also vegan).Chef Fallon noted that many people ask for protein in the dish and that she could do so for me. I told her to surprise me for whatever was easiest for her, as I'm not fussy and like most proteins. This would later come back to be an issue with the check, but more on that later. The Biryani was served with crispy fried onion straws on top. Because I was unsure about the safety when it arrived (I've had the wrong thing given to me before at Sanaa), I asked server Jonathan to ask Chef Fallon and confirm its safety. I learned it was made with a gluten free flour, so that was great.Unfortunately, I had to wait a good 10 minutes before I could even talk to a server about this (Jonathan was not our server was a total rockstar; sadly, our server Eddie virtually ignored us throughout our meal and sent over other servers to assist us, while waiting on tables located directly next to us.). It did take another 5 minutes or so before I got confirmation, so I waited at about 15 minutes before I could eat my meal.Overall, once I finally got to eat it, I really enjoyed this dish. I loved the protein addition (Chef Fallon noted they will be updating the menu soon, and the protein add option will be listed), and I thought the rice was well cooked. The crispy fried onions were amazing! My only slight negative was the vegetables in the Biryani. I'm all about a nice vegetable melange but Brussels Sprouts, Green Beans, Carrots and some other root veggies seemed an odd combo to me. I love all of those, but they seemed a bit out of place with my dish.Butter Chicken and Braised Beef at SanaaMy mom got the Butter Chicken and Braised Beef with Basmati Rice, all of which is gluten free. The Butter Chicken contains dairy, but the Braised Beef is dairy free. I've had the Braised Beef on a previous visit and thought it was just OK.Traditional Sosatie at SanaaMy stepdad had the Braii Lamb with Apricots, Squash, Bacon, Cashews, and Goat Cheese. It looked amazing. It wasn't listed as gluten free, but I am thinking it might have been easily gluten free, if not naturally gluten free, as all of the lamb dishes at Sanaa have been gluten free in the past. The Braii Lamb, I've had before was gluten free on the Braaivleis - South African Braai Sample Plate. Next time, I will ask because it looked incredible and was a great value compared to the other dishes at $22.Everyone enjoyed our meal, but I was a bit shocked when I got my bill and noticed a $15 upcharge for the protein I got. I definitely don't mind upcharges and am used to them at restaurants (thought to be honest, it's not all that rare at Disney), but I was shocked that it was so much and not communicated to me prior.I did speak to the manager Zach who basically said the restaurant charged that much because they needed to recoup their cost. He also noted that the new menu will be coming out and that this price was reflective of new price increases at Sanaa. I did explain to him that had I known there was an upcharge that high, I would have ordered my standard faves. I also let him know that I at no point specifically requested those proteins (he indicated the seafood made it a higher price, which I do understand, of course) and that the chef came up with those. He did reduce the price down to $26 total, which was the same price as the current pricing for the curries on the menu. Still, I was a bit stunned at the experience, and it's definitely not something I've experienced at Disney before without telling me prior to ordering.Overall, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but the experience with service was a bit lacking on this visit. I'm sad to hear that a new menu coming out will now price the curries from $26 to $34 and include 3 choices. My guess is the portion size will be lowered for each of the sauces, but that remains to be seen. Of course, menus and prices are always subject to change, so I will let you know if this new proposed change takes place.I love Sanaa, but I think I may skip it for dinner for a while and maybe only go at lunch where the prices are a bit more reasonable. It's a shame because it's my favorite restaurant, but this particular visit makes me want to take a bit of a Sanaa break for a while. As an update, I did speak with Disney's Guest Services, and they were also surprised by the upcharge I received and assured me that this is not a new common practice at Sanaa or other locations. Hopefully, others will not experience the same issue I did on this visit to Sanaa. This was a rare occurrence, and I'm glad it's not the norm.Have you been to Sanaa? What is your favorite dish there?

Blaze Pizza -- Lunch -- Quick Service -- Disney Springs

*This dining experience took place in August 2016.Blaze Pizza SignBlaze Pizza, a well-known pizza chain, opened its latest location at Disney Springs on August 5, 2016. As a quick service restaurant, Blaze Pizza offers "blazing" fast pizza that cooks in 180 seconds.Recently, I stopped by Blaze Pizza at their Disney Springs location to check out their gluten free and special dietary needs options. I've never been to any Blaze Pizza locations, though I had heard the chain restaurant carries gluten free pizza dough and vegan cheese.Blaze Pizza is located in the Town Center at Disney Springs. They open at 10 a.m. every day, which is pretty darn early for pizza. But, who am I to argue with pizza cravings, no matter what time of day it is!Blaze Pizza InteriorWhen I arrived in Blaze Pizza, I noticed that there were two "stations" where Blaze Kitchen employees helped customers build their custom pizzas. As a celiac, this seemed like a major cross contamination nightmare, so I wasn't sure if this would be a place I could dine at or not. After arriving, I notified a Blaze Pizza employee of my special dietary needs and asked to speak with a manager. I was greeted by Minnie (what a perfect name!) who assisted me from start to finish during my visit to Blaze Pizza and was a total rockstar. You can see Minnie in the photo above, where she is preparing gluten free pizza dough on the dedicated gluten free pizza dough press.Blaze Pizza SeatingMinnie explained to me that Blaze Pizza offers gluten free pizza dough, which is also vegan. She mentioned that it was tapioca flour based, but I did not get the full ingredients list. She let me know that they try to reduce cross contamination as much as possible by using a dedicated gluten free pizza dough press, plastic sheets* for each pizza (that stay with the pizza while it goes in the oven), and even dedicated pizza cutters. NOTE: I will be double-checking this when I dine here next time to confirm what they are using for the sheets (silicon, etc.) She also told me that for those with allergies or celiac disease that they will change gloves and use fresh ingredients that are not on the main line. This means that you can get fresh sauce that has not touched any gluten on your pizza (this is important, as I noticed that the sauce and spoons for the sauce were touching gluten filled pizza dough immediately upon entering Blaze Pizza).I watched Minnie prepare my pizza and all of my pizza toppings were pulled from separate areas.Blaze Pizza InteriorAfter my pizza was prepared, it went into the pizza oven. This is a shared oven, but they did try to keep my pizza away from the gluten filled ones. If you have any concerns about a shared oven, you may want to speak with an employee to discuss.BBQ Chicken Pizza at Blaze PizzaI ordered what was essentially the BBQ Chicken Pizza. I removed the banana peppers and omitted the Gorgonzola cheese and added bacon. You can really create and customize your pizza however you want to, which is pretty great.Check out my full video dining review of this visit to Blaze Pizza on YouTube:Blaze Pizza does have a list of allergens/ingredients on their website so you can double-check which items are gluten free or cover your special dietary need. For gluten free, the meatballs were the only pizza topping that contained gluten (the meatballs also contain dairy). If you are vegan or have a milk allergy, you can request vegan cheese. Blaze Pizza uses Daiya Cheese. I'm not sure if they have an upcharge on the vegan cheese, but do note that they charge $2.00 extra for the gluten free dough. For those vegans or milk allergy guests, the gluten free pizza dough is also vegan too.If you have a nut allergy, Blaze Pizza currently only has one dish that contains tree nuts (almonds) which is the beet and goat cheese salad. Otherwise, the facility does not carry any other nut related products, which is pretty awesome. For more information about allergens at Blaze Pizza, check their website FAQ.Blaze Pizza To Go BoxI really loved the pizza that I got at Blaze Pizza. The dough has to be the best gluten free and dairy free pizza dough I've ever had. Though I enjoy Udi's Gluten Free pizza crust, I have to say that this version from Blaze Pizza was a huge step up. It was also a bit bigger than the Udi's pizza crust, making it a good value for the price (around $12).I loved the toppings and found everything to be of high quality and very fresh. I also love that I have a ton of choices of toppings and sauces.Add to it the fact that Blaze Pizza went above and beyond to ensure that I had a safe meal, this was definitely an impressive experience. I really appreciated the time that Minnie and the team took to answer all of my questions and to prepare my pizza safely. It's a rare treat to get gluten free pizza out that's not super expensive and also really tasty.Blaze Pizza is definitely going to be a new quick service favorite for me when I visit Disney Springs. When I visited there were three of us right in a row that have special dietary needs, so it's pretty amazing to see Blaze Pizza step up to the plate and offer safe options for everyone! Are you looking forward to visiting Blaze Pizza? What kind of pizza toppings would you like on your custom pizza?

Frontera Cocina To Go Counter -- Quick Service -- Disney Springs

*This dining experience took place in August 2016. Frontera Cocina To Go MenuI recently stopped by Frontera Cocina's To Go Counter for another quick service meal. I'd visited previously and really enjoyed the Conchinita Pibil (aka pork) tacos that they serve there, and I was looking forward to trying their other to go option, the Beef Barbacoa tacos which are also gluten free. One of the things that I love most about Frontera Cocina is that their menu is almost entirely gluten free. It's pretty awesome, and even more awesome because I'm a huge Mexican food fan and could literally eat Mexican food every day.Beef Barbacoa Tacos at Frontera CocinaThe Beef Barbacoa Tacos are braised beef tacos served with cojita cheese (similar to Parmesan), red onion, cilantro, a side of fresh lime and chipotle salsa all served on handmade corn tortillas. The tortillas at Frontera Cocina are amazing and are a bit thicker than you would expect and super delicious. They make the perfect vessel for these tacos. The braised beef itself was fairly good and well cooked. My only complaint is that I had a few pieces that seemed to have a bit of fat on them. The diced red onion, cilantro, and cojita cheese made the dish. The cheese is the only dairy item on these tacos, and you can order them dairy free by omitting the cheese.Make sure to squeeze a bit of fresh lime juice on the tacos and dip the tacos in the chipotle salsa. It's spicy but nothing like the atomic habanero salsa that comes with the Conchinita Pibil tacos (you've been warned! I like spice and the habanero salsa was way too intense for me).Overall, I really enjoyed the beef barbacoa tacos, though I have to say I would probably order the conchinita pibil tacos next time instead. I prefer pork and really enjoyed the pickled red onions served with those tacos.Frontera Cocina's To Go Counter is definitely a great quick service stop, especially if you're craving Mexican food. It doesn't have a ton of variety, but it's all gluten free (and easily made dairy free) and delicious!Have you been to Frontera Cocina? What did you order at the table service or quick service location?

Coming in at $3.99, this is a bargain for a snack or a light meal. It's also a snack on the Disney Dining Plan.Liberty Square Market Baked Potato IngredientsHere are the ingredients for the Baked Potato. It is served plain with the butter, sour cream, and cheese on the side. If you can't have dairy, just simply ask the cast member to not add these ingredients to your container. In addition, many people like to get a baked potato with soup or vegetarian chili from Columbia Harbour House next door for a nice hearty meal.Seasonally, Liberty Square Market often has corn on the cob (also served plain with butter on the side) and most recently, sweet potatoes. When I visited in summer 2016, they did not have either currently at Liberty Square Market, but this is always subject to change and availability.Check out the review from the Disney Food Blog for more info on the sweet potatoes and corn on the cob.Fruit at Liberty Square Market Liberty Square Market also has lots of grab and go fruit. Ice Cream Carts -- Snacks -- Quick Service

*This post contains ingredient information from July 24, 2016. Always double-check with a cast member to ensure that an item is safe for your special dietary need before consuming. Special Dietary Needs Binder KiosksOrlando can be a very warm place, no matter the time of year, so if you're visiting Walt Disney World, chances are you've been looking for a cool treat. In a past podcast episode, I covered some of my favorites cool treats (including the No Way Jose sundae from Beaches & Cream), but in this post we'll be looking at the ice cream cart offerings which you can find at any Disney theme park.On a recent visit, I stopped by one of the carts while checking out information about the freshly popped popcorn at Disney and asked if I could see the information about ice cream. Here are some of the photos from the special dietary needs binder. I will be adding to this post, as I did not get photos for all of their special dietary needs offerings.Mickey Bar IngredientsOne of the most popular Disney ice cream treats is the Mickey Bar. As you can see, the ingredients do not note that it contains gluten and there does not appear to be any "made in a facility" warnings either (you will see those on some other ingredients images).Mickey Bars have often had mixed information about whether they are gluten free or not. By the current ingredients, they do look to be gluten free.Frozen Olaf Bar IngredientsThe Frozen Olaf Bar is gluten free and dairy free, but does contain a warning that the items are processed in a facility that also processes those ingredients.Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich IngredientsSadly, the Mickey Ice Cream Bar sandwich is a no go for gluten free and dairy free.Frozen Fruit Bar IngredientsThe frozen fruit bars are something I've been offered a lot, and I'm not really a fan of. I would probably avoid this due to the processing in the same facility warning. What are your favorite cool treats at Disney?

Fresh Popcorn -- Snacks -- Quick Service

*This post contains ingredient information from July 24, 2016. Always double-check with a cast member to ensure that an item is safe for your special dietary need before consuming. You can hear more about Disney's popcorn in Episode 38 of the podcast!Popcorn Stand at DisneyDisney World popcorn is a classic snack -- one that has long been a favorite of mine too. Whether you're enjoying a box of freshly popped popcorn as you stroll down Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom or sharing a bucket of popcorn while waiting to watch a Disney parade. chances are popcorn is a favorite of yours too.Disney World's freshly popped popcorn, found at a variety of outdoor kiosks throughout the Disney World theme parks, has long been gluten free, dairy free, and even vegan. It used to be made with Orville Redenbacher's popcorn, and back in fall 2015, it was announced that Pop Secret would become the new popcorn brand for all freshly made popcorn at the Disney Parks.Thankfully, despite the popcorn brand change, the freshly made popcorn at Disney is still gluten free, dairy free, and vegan.(Note: This does not apply to pre-packaged and pre-prepared popcorn or the flavored popcorn at Epcot. Always double-check ingredients to confirm if these types of popcorn are safe for your special dietary need). Special Dietary Needs Binder KiosksI recently stopped by an outdoor kiosk at the Magic Kingdom to check out the current ingredients binder and to take photos of the ingredients for you the readers.Disney Popcorn IngredientsAs you can see, the popcorn oil does not contain any dairy, but is canola oil and coconut oil based. Despite this, you'd swear that the Disney popcorn was filled with butter. It tastes really buttery and rich without all the dairy containing ingredients.Disney Popcorn IngredientsThe popcorn salt and popcorn are simple ingredients and make the perfect base for Disney's classic freshly popped popcorn. So there you have it. The ingredients for Disney's freshly popped popcorn. I love that this classic continues to remain gluten free and dairy free.Have you tried Disney's popcorn? Do you love it as much as I do?

Frontera Cocina -- Lunch -- Table Service -- Disney Springs

*This dining experience took place in July 2016.Frontera CocinaFrontera Cocina, located at Disney Springs, has quickly become one of my new favorite table locations. With authentic Mexican food, this restaurant is the brain child of celebrity chef Rick Bayless, who is well-known for creating classic Mexican cuisine. With a menu that's almost entirely gluten free naturally, it's not hard to see why I love Frontera Cocina so much.Frontera Cocina InteriorOn this particular visit, I stopped by with my mom for a quick lunch. Frontera Cocina opens at 11 a.m., and on this visit, we were actually the first guests in the restaurant. Yes, rope dropping Mexican food; that's how we roll in my family!Sikil Pak at Frontera CocinaOn my last visit, I got the bacon guacamole and loved it, but I've been dying to try the Sikil Pak -- a classic Yucatan dish made with pumpkin seeds. It's actually something I learned to make when I visited Mexico for my birthday in 2015, so I was excited to try Frontera Cocina's version.Served with tortilla chips (which are made in a dedicated fryer), cucumber, and jicama, this was a nice refreshing appetizer. The pumpkin seed dip does have a bit of a bite, as it contains habanero, but it's not overly spicy. I preferred the dip with the fresh cucumber with the tortilla chips coming in as a close second. My mom loved the jicama. My only complaint about this dish was that our tortilla chips seemed a bit stale. They weren't warm and freshly fried, which was a bit of a bummer.Zucchini Tostada at Frontera CocinaFor my entree, I decided to order the zucchini and roasted poblano pepper tostadas topped with black beans, goat cheese, and a bit of frisee. I do really well with non-cow's milk cheese, so I was looking forward to trying this goat cheese based dish.Overall, I really enjoyed these -- though after seeing my mom's chicken tostadas, I sort of wish I had ordered those minus the crema and queso fresco. The zucchini and poblanos were really well cooked, and I liked the combination of the beans and tang from the goat cheese. I wasn't a fan of the frisee, but it was easily removed.I didn't ask, but I actually don't think this is a vegetarian dish, because the menu indicates that the black beans contain pork (probably pork fat). Next time I visit, I will try to ask about vegetarian dishes.Chicken Tostadas at Frontera CocinaMy mom ordered the chicken tostadas, and she raved about them. They looked really delicious and flavorful. Topped with black beans, chicken, avocado, crema, queso fresco and cilantro - these are gluten free and can easily be made dairy free by removing the crema and queso fresco.Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch at Frontera Cocina. I hope to go back for dinner to try out some of the other gluten free options. I'm dying to get the shrimp mojo de ajo that my friend Ron ordered. You can see some of the other gluten free dishes over on Alexis's Gluten Free Adventures. What are you most looking forward to trying at Frontera Cocina?

Frontera Cocina To Go Counter -- Dinner -- Quick Service -- Disney Springs

*This dining experience took place in July 2016.Frontera Cocina To Go MenuFrontera Cocina is one of Disney Springs newest restaurant offerings, and while I love this table service restaurant, I absolutely love that they have a to go counter. I'm such a huge Mexican food lover that getting tacos to go is pretty much my favorite thing ever.I previously stopped by the to go counter and grabbed chips and guacamole along with margaritas with my friend Ron, and on this visit, I knew I wanted to grab dinner. Thankfully, everything at Frontera Cocina is marked with allergens, so I knew that I was in good shape for getting a great gluten free and dairy free meal.Conchinita Pibil Tacos at Frontera CocinaI decided to order the Cochinita Pibil Tacos, which is made up of achiote braised pork shoulder, pickled red onions, and served with habanero salsa. I confirmed with the culinary team that this was both gluten free & dairy free upon ordering.I have to say that I really enjoyed these tacos -- so much so that I basically scarfed them down in half the time it took Brandon to eat his poutine from the Daily Poutine.I love the warm corn tortillas and the braised pork was slow roasted and tender. The pickled red onion was a highlight adding a bit of a tangy and tart flavor to the dish, along with some texture. Fresh cilantro was perfect on top.As a salsa warning, I was asked if I wanted the habanero salsa and was told it was VERY spicy. I opted for the chipotle salsa, which I was told was milder but still quite spicy. I love spice, and the chipotle was well beyond my spice level. I dipped a small bit of my taco into and had to drink a ton of water after eating it. Brandon even said my face was bright red. So as far as spice, proceed with caution on the salsa! The taco itself wasn't very spicy, but very flavorful.Overall, I loved these tacos, and I can't wait to go back again. I love that I can grab these for a tasty and quick dinner and that everything is so gluten free friendly. Frontera Cocina is definitely high on my quick service list now at Disney Springs!Have you been to Frontera Cocina? What did you enjoy when you visited there?

Spice Mill -- Lunch -- Quick Service -- SeaWorld Orlando

*This dining experience took place in July 2016.Spice Mill at SeaWorld OrlandoAs a SeaWorld Passholder, I have been visiting the park for the past year, but haven't had a chance to dine there yet. On this visit, I finally got a chance to check out the dining options and how SeaWorld Orlando handles special dietary needs. My first meal was at Spice Mill, a quick service restaurant that serves burgers, sandwiches, and salads.Spice Mill at SeaWorld OrlandoBefore I arrived at SeaWorld Orlando, I emailed the Culinary Operations Team at SeaWorld. You can find out more information about special dietary needs at SeaWorld on their website, including allergen cards and how to contact them for more informaiton. After connecting with the Culinary Operations Team, they sent me a document listing all of the gluten free options at the quick service locations. This was really helpful, as I could cross-reference things and pick the choice that both Brandon and I would have options at.Spice Mill's options included:

  • Potato Salad
  • Pulled Pork Sandwich on a Gluten Free Bun
  • Pickles
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Hamburger on a Gluten Free Bun
  • Chop Chop Salad
  • Cheeseburger on a Gluten Free Bun

For the Kids' Menu, gluten free options included:

  • Hamburger on a Gluten Free Bun with Carrot Sticks and Fruit or Applesauce
  • Hot Dog on a Gluten Free Bun with Carrot Sticks and Fruit or Applesauce

Allergy Cards at SeaWorld OrlandoThroughout the SeaWorld Park, they have allergy friendly information cards that you can pick up. They include information about training, where to eat, and even include a food allergy information card that you can share with the culinary team at whatever restaurant you dine at.All team members seemed to be very used to this, as the team member at the cash register asked if I had one filled out when I inquired about a gluten free meal.A chef also came out to speak with me about options and prepared my food in the kitchen. Spice Mill is cafeteria style, so having my food make safely in the back was really great. The chef did tell me that I could get French fries, as they are made in a dedicated fryer. I opted for a gluten free cheeseburger (since I've been reintroducing a bit of dairy back into my diet), along with fries.Allergy Snacks at Spice Mill at SeaWorld OrlandoThe restaurant also had several food allergy friendly items to purchase behind the cash register including Beanitos and Divvies. Some locations also carried Rich's Gluten Free Brownies, which are also dairy free.Burger at Spice Mill at SeaWorld OrlandoI had a fairly short wait for my food. Once I got my burger and fries, I did check out the condiment station, which consists of all pre-packaged condiments. This is great because you can enjoy ketchup, mustard, and mayo without worry of cross contamination. Both Brandon and I got burgers, and we both really enjoyed them. We commented that they were actually better than some of the burgers you'd get even at a Disney quick service location in one of the parks. My burger was served on an Udi's Gluten Free bun, and the entire meal could have easily been made dairy free by removing the cheese.Overall, I was really impressed at how SeaWorld Orlando handled my special dietary needs. I think they're doing a great job at following cross-contamination procedures and having options available. I will say that I was even more impressed that a chef came out to speak with me. That doesn't happen at other Orlando theme parks (except Disney) like Universal Studios, where I'm usually just working with the cashier/team member at the front and an ingredients binder. Now that I've dined at SeaWorld safely, I can't wait to check out the other restaurants when I visit again. As a passholder, I feel really confident now that I'll be able to dine safely throughout my visit in the park. I'll be posting a fuller review of the overall special dietary needs accommodations in another post, including information about options at other SeaWorld Orlando restaurants for gluten free diners.Have you been to SeaWorld Orlando with special dietary needs? What did you think of your experience?
